Reef Fishing in the Keys
The reef off of Key West is huge! It runs from Miami all the way to the Dry Tortugas and is loaded with life. Reef fishing is really fun and a great way to put some meat in the box for great dinners of amazing Florida Keys seafood later. Fish species such as Yellowtail snapper, mutton snapper, yellow eye snapper, vermillion snapper, mangrove snapper, black and red grouper. There are also lots of other fun surprises such as sailfish, blackfin tunas, permit, African pompano, kingfish, cero mackerel and several jack species.
Reef Fishing Charters
Bottom Fishing with live bait, casting artificial lures, kite Fishing with live bait and some live bait trolling are all the ways we go reef fishing here in Key West. Depending on the fishing seasons and the fish species we are targeting as to what techniques I will use on my fishing charters. I have one of the coolest boats in Key West for reef fishing. Fast safe and very comfortable. My boat is fully equipped with the nicest fishing gear from DAIWA
Versatility is key to a productive day of fishing. Many times when I am flats fishing or backcountry or even after our tarpon session we can change it up and head out to the reef for some tasty treats.
